CNC Busbar Punching and Shearing Machine

CNC Busbar Punching and Shearing Machine for precise cutting and punching of busbars with high automation and reliable performance.

Product Introduction

The TRANFOVIA CNC Busbar Punching and Shearing Machine is built for automated processing of copper and aluminum busbars used in switchgear, transformer connections and power-distribution assemblies. The machine combines punching, shearing, chamfering and embossing in one CNC-controlled platform, with automatic repeated clamping for long workpieces.

Two machine classes are available: 400 kN and 600 kN. Both use 6-axis control, a configurable punch/shear die library and servo positioning, while the larger model increases busbar size, punching range, positioning speed and striking speed.

Applications

This machine is used when a factory needs repeatable punching and shearing of copper or aluminum busbars rather than general-purpose three-station processing. It is particularly suited to high- and low-voltage switchgear, transformer busbar fabrication and power-distribution production where long bars must be positioned automatically and processed with multiple hole shapes, grooves, chamfers or embossed features.

Busbar Punching, Shearing and Automatic Positioning

  • Automatic repeated clamping

Long busbars can be processed from one initial loading position, with the clamp switching automatically during punching and shearing.

  • Flexible die library

The machine can be configured with 8 punches + 1 shear, or 7 punches + 1 shear + 1 embossing station.

  • Single-knife opposed shearing

The shearing structure is designed to cut the bar without generating a separate scrap slug at the cut.

  • 6-axis CNC motion

X, Y and Z travel and positioning are controlled as part of a 6-axis system for coordinated punching and shearing.

  • Wear-resistant die frame

The mould frame uses ductile iron to support long-term alignment of the upper and lower dies.

  • HMI and production program visibility

The operator can view program status through the machine interface while the servo and material-feeding systems execute the programmed cycle.

How to Select Between the 400 kN and 600 kN Models

Choose MX402K — For busbars up to 12 × 160 mm and punching diameters up to Ø25 mm.

Choose MX602K — For busbars up to 15 × 200 mm, punching diameters up to Ø35 mm and higher X-axis / striking speed.

Confirm tooling before quotation — Provide hole shapes, slot sizes, embossing requirements, bar material, bar size and representative drawings so the die library can be matched to the production program.

FAQ

  1. What is a CNC busbar punching machine used for?

It automatically positions copper or aluminum busbars for punching and shearing, and can also perform chamfering and embossing with the configured tooling.

  1. Can the machine process long busbars without repeated manual positioning?

Yes. Automatic repeated clamping is one of the core features of this machine.

  1. What is the difference between 7-station and 8-station tooling?

The listed configurations are 8 punches + 1 shear, or 7 punches + 1 shear + 1 embossing station.

  1. Is this the same as a 3-in-1 busbar processing machine?

No. A 3-in-1 machine combines separate punching, shearing and bending stations. This page is focused on automated CNC punching and shearing of long busbars.

  1. Which data should be provided for model selection?

Provide busbar material, maximum width and thickness, hole/slot sizes, required embossing, part drawings, daily output and preferred automation level.
